The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity an investigational messenger ribonucleic acid (mRN)A vaccine for the prevention of lower respiratory tract disease (LRTD) caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and/or human metapneumovirus (hMPV) in older adults. A single intramuscular (IM) injection of 3 to 4 different doses of the RSV/hMPV mRNA vaccine candidate formulated with 2 different lipid nanoparticles (LNP) will be administered to healthy participants aged 18 to 49 years and 60 years and older. The iCaRe2 is a multi-institutional resource created and maintained by the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center to collect and manage standardized, multi-dimensional, longitudinal data and biospecimens on consented adult cancer patients, high-risk individuals, and normal controls. The distinct characteristic of the iCaRe2 is its geographical coverage, with a significant percentage of small and rural hospitals and cancer centers. The iCaRe2 advances comprehensive studies of risk factors of cancer development and progression and enables the design of novel strategies for prevention, screening, early detection and personalized treatment of cancer. Centers with expertise in cancer epidemiology, genetics, biology, early detection, and patient care can collaborate by using the iCaRe2 as a platform for cohort and population studies. Read Less

The primary objective of the STRIVE study is to compare two implementation strategies for Diabetes Prevention Program delivery: an in-person health coach strategy (standard 24 in-person sessions at WIC clinics) vs. a multifaceted technology-assisted health coach implementation strategy (12 in-person sessions at WIC clinics supplemented by technology support) on implementation and health-related outcomes in postpartum women. The goal of this pilot project is to increase access to healthy food, improve diets, and reduce food insecurity and, in turn, reduce health disparities among low-income, minority children under the age of five attending early childcare centers. Specific aims are to: 1) examine the feasibility of a six-month Farm to ECE intervention and 2) collect preliminary data to evaluate the efficacy of the program to 2.1) improve the ECE nutrition environment from baseline to follow-up; 2.2) increase access to local fruits and vegetables among children at ECEs from baseline to follow-up; and 2.3) increase parent knowledge and use of community food resources. Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a serious condition characterized by a mean pulmonary artery pressure >=25mmHg on right heart catheterization (RHC). Despite advances in PH care, outcomes are still sub-optimal and further research is required into the pathobiology of the disease and development of biomarkers that can guide clinical care. The investigators are establishing a biobank to collect samples (blood, urine, stool) from patients with pulmonary hypertension, patients at high risk for pulmonary hypertension, healthy controls, and patients undergoing right heart catheterization.
